“Let the fear in your belly feed the fire in your heart.”
"Set in the world of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, The Wanderer and the Wolves takes you deeper into a world that doesn't disappoint. Sit down, grab a coffee or tea, and enjoy every syllable."
- Christopher Coppola, actor, Beowulf
The Wanderer and the Wolves
offers something for everyone.
Admirers of Arthurian legend will enjoy delving into the history behind the myth. Followers of Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung will appreciate this updated “heroine’s” journey. Anyone interested in the evolution of language - etymology - will value the translations of the name of every tribe, Grail Hallow, king, queen, knight, kingdom, and castle in the Arthurian corpus: the largest body of literature in the world. History buffs and armchair archaeologists will relish seeing the characters, once thought of only as fairy tale archetypes, spring to life. And epic enthusiasts – those who delighted in Game of Thrones, The Tudors, Vikings, Braveheart, and Outlander – will love this new take on an old theme.
About the Book
Exiled from her childhood home by a vicious murder, Anavere is raised by the strange-eyed Lady of the Lake and her bevy of maidens in the secluded sanctuary of the Vale of Afalach. There, she is steeped in the mores of a lost and outlawed sect, educated to be a priestess and instructor. With the winds of war descending upon the peaceful haven, will the pitiless epoch in which Anavere lives permit her dream to sprout wings and fly, or destroy it before it leaves the nest, and along with it, the promising young priestess?
About the Author
S.A. Watson has always loved writing. When she was a little girl, she fashioned poems in her head, read about Indigenous and Colonial America, and spent hours writing “books” on folded paper. She produced plays, acting them out in costume.
Now, Watson is an award-winning poet and author. Her poetry is in the Library of Congress. Many of her original poems are included in her fiction. Her first book, The Wanderer and the Wolves, explores the history behind Arthurian legend.
When not writing, Watson can be found listening to P!nk’s latest album, laughing at The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, or staring at the ocean in her native Laguna Beach like she’s never seen it before.
